Use dimensions, not just gallons
Robot sizing is primarily a cleaning-surface problem. Length, width, wall area and obstacles matter more than water volume. A 50-foot pool with benches and a deep end asks more of navigation than a simple rectangle.
Current model reference points
Aiper lists the Scuba S1 for pools up to 50 feet in length and 1,600 sq ft. WYBOT lists the C2 Vision for up to 2,152 sq ft. Treat those as screening numbers, then evaluate runtime, filtration and wall/step behavior.
Bigger is useful only if the robot finishes the job
A larger coverage claim can provide margin, but the best fit is the cleaner that consistently completes your desired floor/wall/waterline cycle before the battery or basket becomes the bottleneck.
